Purpose

It is clear that the medical services as constituted at present cannot always meet even basic essential needs for all children in Chechnya. We stand ready to try to help a small number of children who fall through the net.

Actions

In early 2003 we arranged for a few children to receive prosthetics in Italy.

In addition MARCCH has paid in the past for operations for those who needed urgent medical treatment to be treated privately or outside the Russian Federation such as children needing skin grafts, expert rehabilitation or other treatments. However, help in these individual cases is necessarily limited as the costs incurred in this way are so prohibitive. But wherever possible we would still look at such cases and help where we can.
